The King George Youth Committee is hoping to enter this year Bridges Walk in aid of CRY. This is an annual event which takes place on the 18th July. The walk is in London and is an 8KM route which takes all of the fundraisers past 12 of London most famous Landmark: These landmarks are County Hall, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, Somerset House, St Paul's Cathedral, Royal Festival Hall, Tate Modern, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Southwark Cathedral, the Tower of London, City Hall and HMS Belfast.
Last year just over 600 people took part, they managed to raise roughly £51,000!!
King George would like to take as many players, parents, volunteers and of course younger or older brothers and sister up to London to participate in the event.
The event is free to enter for anyone who is 16 years old or under, the registration is £10 per adult who also wishes to enter. You will also receive a free T-Shirt which will have a team name on it "King George FC" and you can also choose to have in memory of someone.
The 12 Landmarks represent the 12 young people who die each week from undiagnosed hearts conditions. Many of us felt a great loss and sadness when a close friend passed away on the 1st February 2008 from an undiagnosed heart condition, he was only 13!
Surely this is a great course to support and raise as much money for as possible.
The link to register for this event is : http://www.c-r-y.org.uk/bridges_walk_2010.htm We would hope to get as many people as possible to go to the event, the main transport link would be for a train journey to finsbury park, then a tube journey directly to the victoria embankment
If anyone is interested in partaking in this event could they please sign up using the link, and also email me @
