Welwyn Hatfield Sports Awards 2010

20644_325831451513_647981513_4749141_6734527_nThursday 11th February 2010 saw the 3rd Welwyn Hatfield Sports Awards being held at the Campus West Theatre in Welwyn Garden City. The aim of the awards is to recognise and reward the sporting endeavours of people in the borough.

King George Football Club was represented as follows:

Aaron Hemsley, winner of Youth Leader of the Year. Aaron (or Azza to his friends!) works tirelessly for KGFC, his roles include being Chairman of the Youth Committee, Coach for Under 11's and is the club's Referee Co-ordinator despite being just 16.

Aaron Foreman, nominated for School Pupil of the Year. Aaron currently plays for KGFC Under 11 Cobras.

King George Football Club, nominated for Club of the Year. Despite being less than a year old, King George Football Club was pleased to be nominated in this categeory along with a number of the Borough's more established clubs. This nomination goes to recognise all the effort put in by our army of volunteers to provide the best footballing opportunities for any child in the local community. Feedack from the judges was very positive and shows we are heading in the right direction though on this occasion narrowly missed out to award winners Herts Phoenix Athletics Club.

Conor Walker. Though not up for an award, this KGFC Under 18 player took to the stage to put on a fantastic solo vocal performance that was thoroughly enjoyed by the watching audience.
