| Managing / Coaching a Youth Football Team |

Have you ever thought about taking up the challenge of running a youth football team? King George Football Club is always on the look out for enthusiastic volunteers who have a love for football, have good communication with young players and can spare approx 3-5 hours a week. An ideal candiate will be:
Each team needs at least a couple of volunteers in order to run smoothly and these are typically a manager and a coach/assistant. A managers role includes coaching the team, planning training sessions, dealing with basic parent issues, registering players, filling in match results cards, confirming match details with other teams, organising referee's for home games and setting up pitch facilities for home games. In contrast the coach is there to support the manager, assist in planning training sessions and take responsibility for developing the players. No team can exist without at least a manager and we understand the importance of providing the correct training and support to help an volunteer to carry out this role. To this end we will ensure any manager is offered an FA Level 1 coaching badge course, regular sessions provided by the FA, Head Coach support for footballing matters and Committee support for anything else. If any additonal help or training is required then there will always be someone around to assist. Sometimes the role of a manager is a thankless task but when you see your team out on the park ENJOYING their football then that is thanks enough. If you feel you can take on this challenge or maybe help in any other way then please fill in the volunteer form on our Join Us! page. |
